Eat Real Food -- Supplements of Vitamins A, C, and E May Not Help You Live Longer

Wednesday February 28, 2007
From CNN: A study in JAMA that reviewed 68 other studies of over 230,000 people total found that people taking supplements with Vitamins A, C, and E did not live longer than those not taking the supplements. Previously it was believed that these supplements would provide an antioxidant effect that would prevent damage by free radicals.

Researchers now think that this benefit may only be obtained from eating real food -- that supplements do not provide the antioxidant benefit. The study has been criticized for grouping too many diverse groups of people. Your best bet? EAT REAL FOOD.
