Immune Triggers for Aging

This aging theory is similar to the hormone theory of aging in that it look to a change in a body system to trigger aging. This time, the trigger is a decline in the immune system. As we age, our immune system becomes less effective. That means that free radicals and other substances that the immune system usually eliminates from our bodies being to build up. This build up speeds age by causing damage to our body systems.
