Wednesday July 18, 2007
According to this news release on bloomberg.com, New York State had the greatest increase in life expectancy from 1991 to 2004. The increase is thought to be largely due to improved access to medications.

New York state led the nation with a 4.3 year increase in life expectancy with California in second place at 3.4 years. The US average was an increase of 2.33 years.

Hawaii holds the longest life expectancy in the US at 81.3 years.
