Older People and Driving

Driving is such a critical ability for independence in most cities in the US. Many older people have difficulty driving. It turns out that vision problems are not the number one cause of difficulties - back pain is.

That is good news for older people. Back pain typically can be managed, allowing people to drive for additional years. If you are experience pain in your back or legs that interferes with your daily functioning, see your doctor. There are medical and non-medical options that can help.
