World's Oldest Living Animal - Killed
Tuesday October 30, 2007
Like trees, clams grow rings each year of life - making it easy to determine the age of a clam. A team of researchers was dredging in Iceland when they caught an unusually large clam. The researchers promptly cut open the clam and counted the rings. What they found was the world's oldest living animal.
The particular clam was almost twice as old as the former record holder for clams. At 410 years old, the clam was the oldest known living creature.

We are disgusted that these researchers didn’t show more restraint and use a little ingenuity when it came to determining this poor clam’s age. Where was their sense of awe and respect? Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to say what was on my mind!
It would suck to live 410 years and then have someone come along and kill me. I say hang the researchers.
