World's Oldest Person Turns 115

Monday April 21, 2008
Edna Parker will turn 115 years old this coming Saturday. She is the oldest person in the world, according to the Guinness Book of World records. She is one of 75 people alone over the age of 110, a supercentenarian.

Born in 1893, Ms. Parker currently lives in Indiana, in the United States. She became a widow at the age of 45 when her husband died of a heart attack (that was 70 years ago). She has 13 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.

No one knows why she has lived so long, though researchers have surveyed her and tried to figure it out.

In the meantime, wish Edna Parker a Happy Birthday and many more to come.
