Japan Cares for Elderly with Robot Nurses

Thursday July 9, 2009
Japan is really good at making robots. In fact, around 70% of robots in the world are made in Japan. Now the Japanese government is looking to help the coming crisis of caring for an elderly population by creating nurse robots.

I'm not sure what the nurse robots will do - but some of the tasks of nursing care for the elderly may be ideally suited for a robot. Tasks like helping someone to the bathroom, bringing food and monitoring all could be automated. What do you think? Do the Japanese have the solution to elder care? Put your thoughts in the comments.

I THINK ROBOT IS BETTER THAN NOBODY BECAUSE NURSES IN THE WORLD THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH BUT I THINK WHEN YOU ARE OLDER YOU HAVE MORE PROBABLITY TO GET ANY KIND OF EMERGENCY AND ROBOTS THEY ARE NOT HELPING AT THE MOMENT.
FOR INSTANCE IF THE OLDER PEOPLE FELT MORE BECAUSE SOMETIMES THEIR BLOOD PRESSURE LOWER OR HIGHER AND THE ROBOT CAN NOT PREVENT THIS KIND OF SUCCEED.
