Go to School and Stay Out of Prison for Healthy Aging

From Mark Stibich, Ph.D., About.com Guide   July 29, 2010

This makes a great deal of sense to me. Researchers from the New Jersey Institute for Successful Aging at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey conducted a telephone survey of more than 5,688 residents of New Jersey between the ages of 50 and 74.

They found that people are more likely to "age successfully" if they did certain things earlier in their lives, such as: get an education, get married, stay out of jail, consume only moderate amounts of alcohol and work.

"Successful aging" was defined both by objective (measurable) and subjective (how the person felt or responded to questions) criteria. The study shows that while behaviors earlier in life (before age 50) are important, successful aging can also be influenced by health behaviors and social support in later years.

When we gel older we have risk of high blood pressure and we need to change eating habit. We could not eat the food we like as our young age.Last week my son was asked for cooking the bamboo shoot and pork.In the rainy season there are plenty of bamboo shoot in our green market. Our traditional way to eat by peeling out the rough layer and washed with water and put in the bottle with salt.Next 4 or 5 days bamboo shoot has no bitter taste and become sour.Cooking with pork is one of the favourite dishes in my country but it is not suit for the peoples who have high blood, heart disease and other chronic.I had eaten much of this dish and next day my blood pressure is 140/90.But i had no headache, migraine and cramp thus i didn`t notice myself of blood pressure.Later i didn`t take the drug and control with my herb and it is OK.Favourite food that you like to eat,but it is not suit for you, better to stay away can save your life.
