A hearing aid can last a long time, if you take care of it properly. Here is a checklist of ways to take care of your hearing aid:
  • Turn It Off Be sure to turn your hearing aid off when you are not using it. This could greatly increase the life of your hearing aid and lessen the number of batteries you need.

  • Clean It Your hearing aid came with instructions about cleaning earwax and other substances – follow them. Your hearing aid will work better and last longer.

  • Protect It Keep hairspray, heat, and moisture away from your hearing aid. These substances can damage it.

  • Replace Dead Batteries Replacing dead batteries right away keeps your hearing aid functioning well. If you wait too long, you may have to reprogram its settings. Keep a spare set of batteries handy.
