Question: How Can I Decrease My Cholesterol?
Answer: There are three main ways to decrease your cholesterol:
  • Change Your Diet: Reduce the amount of fat that you eat in your diet. Avoid fatty meats, cheeses, and processed foods (especially fast food).
  • Exercise: Exercise helps the body break down cholesterol. Work up a sweat at least three times a week.
  • Medication: There are a number of good anti-cholesterol medications. Ask your doctor about them, but always make lifestyle changes too -- your goal should be to live healthy and eventually not need the medication.
