Jigsaw puzzles
- I have always loved doing jigsaws but my cat wants to help and more land on the floor than stay on the table. Recently I found on-line sites with free jigsaws and I am hooked. Also I have always had an inquiring mind and want to how everything works. My 11 year old granddaughter says "I'm bored." I tell her "The only cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity!"

- An interesting artical: "Start running and watch your brain grow" say scientists. (Dawn/The Guardian News Service) The health benefits of a regular run have long been known, but scients have never understood the curious ability of exercise to boost brain power. Now researchers think they have the answer. Neuroscientists at Cambridge University have shown that runing stimulates the brain to grow fresh grey matter and it has abig impact on mental ability. a few days of running led to the growth of hundreds of thousands of new brain cells that improved the ability to recall memories without confusing them, askill that is crucial for learning and other cognitive tasks, researchers said. The new brain cells appreaed in a region that is linked to the formation and recollection of memories. The work reveals why jogging and other aerobic exercise can improve memory and learning and potentially slow down the deterioration of mental ability that happens with old age. So do execise.

Life is an enigma
- I think one of the most inane things that has ever been created is sentient life. It is so nice to be animated only to worry because you are keenly aware you will eventually die. Why bother at all? I do not get it. That's a mean thing to do so that tells me that theologies have got it all wrong. A loving "god" wouldn't subject creatures to that would he/she/it? This is why religions exist. We fear our mortality so we want an "out" like some kind of after life and I know there is something, but what that something is eludes my understanding. My NDE really messed with my head. Now I have more questions than I did before I died! It seems so pointless really. Born to die. Well doesn't that just bite!
