Your Bones Are ALIVE

Thursday August 9, 2007
It sounds creepy - your bones are ALIVE - but it really is true. Bones, like any part of your body, are living tissues. Cells in your bones are constantly dividing and dying. You need to make sure that your bones will stay healthy. To do that, your bones need stimulation. This will help prevent osteoporosis and other health conditions.

Weight bearing activities help stimulate your bones to become stronger. Exercises like walking, jogging and weight lifting are great for increasing your bones' strength. While swimming and biking are great exercises for your heart, be sure that your weekly exercise routine includes some activities that involve exercising your bones too.
