Wii's Causing Injury

Nintendo's Wii game involves video games in which the player actively moves a control in motions similiar to real-life games (such as bowling). Wii's are a lot of fun and, when they first came out, they were thought of as a possible exercise solution for people who can't get out much.

Now it looks like, just like real exercise, Wii players are getting injuries. This article (in the NY Times) details some of the injuries Wii players are getting, including common sports injuries like torn rotator cuff because of Wii tennis.

The basic advice is to, like anything else, take your Wii sports slowly and build up over time. You can overdo it, especially given the repetitive motion involved in many of the games.

You’re two years too late. It’s also a game console, not a game.
