Bruise

ADAM Medical Encyclopedia
Bruising often increases with aging and can become a skin care problem. With time, the skin becomes thinner with age. This reduces the cushioning of blood vessels from small blows. The result is an increase in bruising, especially on the arms and legs.

Prevent Aging-Related Bruising

The best way to prevent aging-related bruising is to take good care of your skin your whole life by using sunscreen and avoiding long exposure to the sun’s harmful UV light. A secondary cause of bruising is medications or illness. Talk to your doctor if you have a sudden unexplained increase in bruising.
